Halal Meat Melbourne

Halal meat is easy to get in Melbourne. There's quite a number of Halal meat suppliers along Sydney Rd, so if you missed one, there will be several others up ahead. We often go to either Istanbul or Madina. Both sell a range of chicken, beef, lamb, burgers, and sausages; and Madina offers a selection of Halal frozen products like nuggets, goujons and beef patties.

Madina Halal Meats is located on 755 Sydney Rd, Brunswick.

Footscray

Footscray is another place where you can get your Asian grocery stock. This area is inhabited by predominantly Vietnamese residents, so there's quite a number of dried goods and vegetables similar to the Malaysian culture. There's also a Halal butcher right opposite of the train station.

Footscray is located on the western side of Melbourne

Laguna Oriental Supermarket @ Melbourne CBD

Laguna Oriental Supermarket is one of the best places to get your Asian groceries. It has numerous products from Malaysia and Indonesia, so this is definitely 'the' place for you to restock your Maggi noodles or Sos Cili. There are a lot of canned products like sardines, santan (coconut milk), dried chillies, dried anchovies, frozen Roti Canai, frozen herbs like bunga kantan, and even frozen durian! For Hari Raya, so far, Laguna readily provides instant ketupat and instant lemang by Nona.

Laguna Oriental Supermarket is located on 221 Little Lonsdale St, at QV Building in Melbourne CBD.

Box Hill

Box Hill is located on the east side of Melbourne. Here, you can find may Asian shops particularly selling Asian groceries. Box Hill has a different Melbourne feel, and if you go inside the shopping complex, it feels a bit like an older shopping complex in Malaysia from its exterior and interior building design.

Box Hill is located here:

If you're going by tram, catch Tram 109 at Collins St from the City, going towards Box Hill. A special thing about the tram going to Box Hill is that they are quite new with bigger windows, and as in the pic, the part of the tram track in Box Hill has grass - soothing for the eye.

Asian Grocery @ Commercial Rd, Prahran

If you're staying in suburbs around Prahran, Windsor, South Yarra, Toorak and St. Kilda, then Chapel St would be a convenient place to get your Asian groceries. This Asian Grocery shop sells most of our basic Asian food needs like Sardin Cap Ayam, Maggi, ikan bilis, cili kering, frozen tofu and fishballs, laksa noodles, vegetable like sawi, bayam, and herbs like daun kesum, parsley, etc. There's a lot of packed instant cooking base like for curry, asam pedas, laksa, rendang, etc.
